The next
step is to apply flux to the foiled edges and solder the pieces together. A nice, smooth bead is applied with a hot
soldering iron. After the front of the panels
are soldered, the back receives the same treatment. The picture above shows the completed panel soldering.
It is essential to thoroughly clean off the flux residue
with a light scrubbing, flux remover and copious amounts of rinsing.
The panels are then assembled into a box by tack soldering or
taping the edges. This is to check the
fit of the top and base, which will be the next step.
